With about 0.2 billion years of living history, Sturgeon is the biggest, longest-lived, oldest fish specie living in the world. It has been called “the Living Fossil in water”. Why people call the sturgeon “Sturgeon Arowana”? Because the sturgeon has a jutted forward mouth and ridgy spine which can sketch out the figure of dragon on our mind. According to the history book Lushi Chunqiu, sturgeon has already been recorded and selected as the sacrifice for gods by emperors from West Zhou Dynasty. When it came to Qing Dynasty, it was preferably adored by empress dowager Cixi.
